Civil Structural Engineer – Senior & Intermediate & Technici – Waterford

Our client a nationwide Engineering and Environmental Consultancy Practice are looking to recruit several key roles throughout the company, a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer and a Civil/Structural Engineer and a Civil/Structural Engineer Technician for their Waterford Office. Established in excess of 30 years ago, this consultancy engineering and environmental consultancy are experienced in working on many varied construction projects across every sector for both private and public clients.

**Senior Civil/Structural Engineer**

This excellent opportunity will suit an ambitious and high calibre Engineer with strong project management experience in the food & beverage or pharmaceutical projects (or similar e.g. healthcare) to join the practice in a time of growth. It is expected that this candidate would have the ambition and potential to develop into a member of the management team.

The overall purpose of the role is to provide key engineering and project management expertise to ensure the optimum delivery of Client projects through all stages of the projects from inception and design through to handover.

Responsibilities include:

Working with multidisciplinary engineering teams both external and in house,

  • Co-ordinate work schedules to ensure that projects are delivered to the required technical standard, within budget and to the agreed timescales.
  • Client relationship management, including the implementation of the Company’s strategy in relation to the retention of existing business and the generation of new business

Key Qualifications & Skills:

This role requires:

  • Experienced Professional with experience in the design and construction of a broad range of projects.
  • With an ability to combine effective interpersonal skills with technical competence and managerial capability.

Along With:-

  • Level 8 qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognised university
  • Possess Chartered status or have a Project Management qualification
  • Demonstrate a broad experience and competence in civil/structural design
  • Demonstrate a high level of competence in the planning, design, tendering and contract administration of a wide range of projects in various sectors including the food/beverage and pharmaceutical industries, health care, education, infrastructure works,
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of design standards, legislation, specifications and procurement.
  • Min of 8 years’ experience with a proven track record in designing and managing projects in a design office environment
  • Possess good interpersonal skills combined with drive and energy in delivering projects

**Civil/Structural Engineer **

(Design & Construction experience essential)

The overall purpose of the role is to provide engineering expertise in the design and construction of a broad range of projects and managing the delivery of projects within programme.

Responsibilities include:

Working with multidisciplinary teams, both in house and external, role will be

  • Responsible for providing engineering expertise
  • Managing the delivery of projects within programmes.
  • Co-ordinating work schedules to ensure that projects are delivered to the required technical standard, within budget and to the agreed timescale
  • Using your experience as a design Engineer in the delivery of civil and structural designs.
  • Leading the planning, design, tender, construction and handover of construction projects.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

This role requires an experienced professional who combines effective interpersonal skills with technical competence and managerial capability. The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Level 8 qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognised university
  • Be working towards attaining Chartered status
  • Demonstrate a broad experience and competence in civil/structural design
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of design standards, legislation, specifications and procurement.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with a proven track record in designing and managing projects in a design office environment
  • Good interpersonal skills combined with drive and energy in delivering projects

**Civil/Structural Engineering Technician **

Nationwide Engineering and Environmental Consultancy Practice are looking to recruit Civil/Structural Engineering Technicians with broad experience for their Waterford Office. Established in excess of 30 years ago, this Engineering and Environmental Consultancy are experienced in working on many varied construction projects across every sector for both private and public clients.

The purpose of this role is:

To assist the Engineers with the technical and drafting requirements of a project through the planning, design, tender, construction and handover stages

Responsibilities include:-

  • Delivering on all stages of projects through planning, design, tender, construction and handover stages
  • Working in a team environment to meet client requirements

Role will suit:

  • An experienced Civil/Structural Technician with strong project experience over a broad range of projects with a minimum of 5 years relevant broad experience
  • Demonstrated broad experience and competence in civil/structural design
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of CAD and REVIT
  • Experienced in BIM or willing to upskill to BIM
  • Good interpersonal skills combined with drive and energy in delivering projects
