Sales and Business Development Manager (Tipperary)

Our client, an Agricultural Cooperative which established over 30 years ago are looking for an experienced Sales and Business Development Manager to join the current management team and play a key role in the future development and strategic growth of the business.


  • Management and development of the existing customer portfolio, with both distributors and end users
  • Review and report on customer performance on a regular basis versus agreed targets (or KPI’s)
  • Review and report on product performance by SKU on a regular basis versus sales targets
  • Monitor and report on developments in the market in terms of competitor activity, NPD opportunities etc
  • Identification and delivery of business growth through new customers, new supply channels or introduction of new product lines
  • Create a marketing strategy and related budget for the business
  • Enhance the business’s reputation for a high level of customer service
  • Play a lead role in the strategic planning


  • It is preferable that the successful candidate has a relevant third level qualification in the related disciplines of Business, Marketing or Food Science
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a similar role in preferably a chilled food products business, ideally dairy products
  • An in-depth knowledge of the Irish foodservice and food ingredient sectors is essential, and a similar knowledge of the UK and other markets would be preferable
  • Ability to work on own initiative and play a leadership role in the development of the business
  • Possess proven, strong selling/negotiating skills and commercial acumen
  • Be a clear and concise communicator and possess strong analytical, numeracy and written skills
  • Previous experience in the sales, marketing and brand development of a food business would be beneficial
  • Ideally, has some experience of dealing with international customers
